Trying out the course for free

If you want to test the course free of charge, you will have access to a limited number of lessons drawn from selected parts of the course. As the course is being developed all the time, the amount of material available for free can change.

Lingua Sunrise is constantly developing. The advanced course is on its way; however, we are not yet able to tell when it will be ready.

The Lingua Sunrise course is tailored to the needs of beginners. It is particularly recommended for people who are just starting their adventure with Norwegian. The course covers the basics of speaking, grammar, phonetics, and idiomatic expressions. Each lesson contains a recorded dialogue in which native speakers present new words and expressions. Every lesson is accompanied by audio files in which teachers explain various elements of Norwegian grammar and vocabulary – like at a language school. You can also record your own voice and then listen to it in order to compare your pronunciation and intonation to those of a native speaker. You can build a word list according to your own style and preferences. Each lesson also contains tests designed to check what you have learned. When you reach the end of the course, you can take the final test and obtain your own Lingua Sunrise certificate. The certificate is printable.

If you then become a GOLD member you will have unlimited lifetime access to Lingua Sunrise. If you become a SILVER member, your access will be limited to 3 months. Each type of membership has a different price. In order to see the price list click here.

You can also purchase a CD with our audio lessons for only 35 euro (shipping is free). You may then enjoy the audio lessons while driving or when you have no access to the Internet.

At Lingua Sunrise we value your privacy so we use PayPal and Stripe as our only payment platform. Your payment details are 100% secure, because both PayPal and Stripe are the most trusted and largest online payment service providers – they process thousands of orders and payments every day for content providers like Lingua Sunrise.

You can pay from any country where you have access to the Lingua Sunrise website.

You will receive confirmation from the payment processor company as soon as your payment is successfully processed. That is also when you will get access to the Lingua Sunrise course.

If you do not receive an e-mail confirming your payment, and you think that the money has been charged from your account, check the spam folder in your inbox – the confirmation might have got stuck in there.

You may also want to check again whether the money has been charged from your Paypal account or from your bank. If not, it is possible that your transfer has not been sent yet.

2. You will receive two e-mails: one from Lingua Sunrise with your receipt/invoice and order number and the other from the payment processor you have been using with confirmation of payment for your access.

You can send payments in more than 20 currencies other than the euro. It is not necessary for you to have a euro account. For the list of accepted currencies see PayPal list of currencies.

Problems to log in

You may log in as a free trial user to check out the all the program’s features. Just click FREE TRIAL on the menu above.

If you have paid for the course, you can log in using the link in the top right corner. Enter your e-mail address and password to get access to the program. If you have forgotten your password, click FORGOTTEN PASSWORD. Next, check if you have received an e-mail from Lingua Sunrise (don’t forget to check the spam folder if necessary). The new e-mail will instruct you how to set a new password.

If that doesn’t work, please contact us with your order number, and we will get in touch with you within 24 hours.

If you have forgotten your password, click LOG IN (the top right corner) and then select FORGOTTEN PASSWORD.

If you paid via PayPal, remember to use the same e-mail address to log into the system as you used with your PayPal account.

You cannot change to another language after purchasing the course. Your username and log-in information are associated with the language you choose at the start.

Technical questions

To download any file from Lingua Sunrise, click DOWNLOAD AUDIO and choose the “Save file as” option. If you are using a Mac, hold down the Control key and click on the download link to replicate the right click function.

Next, you will see a window asking you where you want to save the file. Choose where you want to save it on your hard drive, and click on the “Save” button.

Make sure that you remember the location of the saved files, so that you don’t have problem with finding them later.

When downloading is finished, you can play the audio files using Windows Media Player or iTunes.

Please make sure that your browser is up to date. We recommend using the current or previous major versions of such browsers as: IE 11+, Firefox 41+, Chrome 45+, Safari 9+, Opera 32+, Safari (iOS) 9+, Opera Mini 8+, Android Browser 44+, Chrome for Android 45+.

If you are using an older browser, check for its updates or install the Chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome) or Firefox browser (http://getfirefox.com) to get automatically redirected to the latest versions.

Check your sound settings to make sure that your microphone is properly connected and working.

If that doesn’t help, please make sure that your browser is up to date. The most common reason is that the files have not been successfully downloaded. For example, the download process may have been interrupted if you have an unstable Internet connection.

If the files have been downloaded, check their size to verify if they have been fully downloaded – file size is shown next to the download link. Anti-virus programs, pop-up blockers, and firewall software can also stop files from downloading properly.

To solve the problem, close all the applications and download the files again, using a different browser. We recommend using Chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome) or Firefox (http://getfirefox.com).

The files are normally downloaded to the default folder (i.e. Downloads), unless you are using different browser settings. Check your browser settings to find out where the files are stored.

You can also check your browser’s download history.

Note that if you choose the “Save file as” option while downloading, you can indicate the location where you want to save the file. So if you can’t find a file that was automatically saved somewhere on your computer, download it again, this time using the “Save file as” option.

The interactive audio lessons can be downloaded as mp3 files. The size of the files depends on the length of the recording, but none of them is bigger than 45 MB.
